help with Dr. Jordan S. Josephson
hello.
i will probably have a secondary rhinoplasty with this doctor.
I have a terrible ear and breathing problem from nose surgery gone wrong. I am having the surgery primarily for medical reasons, but i also want to look good afterwards.
Has anyone heard anything about this surgeon, good or bad?
What doc besides this is good for helping with medical problems? How is toriumi?
thanks

Only go to a revision expert
Hi Sally,
I checked out Josephson's site and he doesn't appear to be even a B-list rhinoplasty expert (no pics? little mention of rhinoplasty at all)--much less an A-list revisionist. I would run!
My strong preference is for Toriumi as the #1 revisionist, IF...you like his aesthetic. Even if you don't like his aesthetics, I believe he would be an extremely valuable consult to get an idea of the degree of repair necessary, potential for functional improvement, techniques, what's possible imaging, etc... I've seen probably 60 revisions by him and even those where the patient didn't get what they wanted, look very good to me...Many of them were major reconstructions that helped give people their lives back.
Rhinoplasty has a huge dissatisfaction/revision rate (>30% according to industry stats, but I'd say closer to 50%). Revision rhinoplasty has even greater dissatisfaction due to removal of tissues, instability, scarring. If you are ready to risk further surgery, you should definitely go with one of the top in the field. Perhaps other readers can give you further references.
All the very best!
